The Association's Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS) refers potential clients in need of legal representation and willing to hire private counsel to pre-screened attorneys in more than 150 practice areas. All attorneys who receive referrals through LRIS must be in good standing in their practice, carry professional liability insurance and meet experience requirements. LRIS is a service to the public by providing access to justice and to Association members by providing them with business. LRIS is also one of the leading non-dues revenue sources of the Association, as attorneys pay a percentage of the fees they earn on referred matters to the Association. Section and Committee chairs are asked to support LRIS by encouraging their members to join the service and to refer clients they are unable to help to LRIS.
